THREE SISTERS, THREE WEDDINGS, AND ONE DRESS

This charming children’s book was inspired by a true story with a comic twist of adventurous events fashioned by Marcela.  It takes place in one of Brazil’s beautiful colonial churches at the city of Ouro Preto, built in the 17^th Century and nestled beautifully in a rolling valley with steep streets.  The book features delightfully primitive images also illustrated by Ms. Carvalho.  It’s written in English with a few short quotes in Portuguese (Marcela’s native language) along with translations.  Marcela speaks English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese and the reading on the 14th will be enjoyable for all.   The three sisters, Carla, Paula and Gloria can only afford one dress yet they want to get married on the same day.  With each other’s help and a village of family and friends they find a way.
